About Me

My name is Jason Baum.  I was born on July 11, 1986 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  I have lived in Pittsburgh my whole life and am an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates.

Here is a picture of me with my fiancé, Elizabeth:

We got engaged in December of 2007. Our wedding date is November 6, 2010.

After a few years of college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, I decided that I wanted to do something a little more hands-on.  Right now I am going to a tech school in Pittsburgh, PA called Triangle Tech, studying carpentry and construction technology, and I really enjoy it.  I'll be done in May 2011.

Some of my other hobbies are drumming, hockey, and drum corps (DCI).

I have been cubing since August of 2004.  I got into cubing thanks to my friend Joe Spadafora who patiently taught me.  I never thought I would become this obsessed with it.  It really is a great hobby.  Here are my speedcubing stats:

I used to be very into speed running video games, but cubing pretty much took over that. But I still hold the world record for 100% completion of Super Mario World for Super Nintendo. I went through every level in 1 hour, 31 minutes, and 45 seconds. You can watch my record setting run here.
